Spray drying is a process widely used in the liquid process shaping and drying industry. ^Suitable to produce powder, granular or block solid products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions and plastic paste liquid materials. Therefore, spray drying is an ideal process when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and particle shape of the finished product must meet the required standards.
After filtering and heating, the air enters the air distributor on the top of the spray dryer, and the hot air enters the drying chamber evenly in a spiral shape. The material liquid passes through the high-speed centrifugal atomizer on the top of the tower body, and (rotating) sprays into very fine misty liquid beads, which can be dried into finished products in a very short time in cocurrent contact with hot air. The finished product is continuously output from the bottom of the drying tower and the cyclone separator, and the waste gas is evacuated by the induced draft fan.
The spray dryer has a high degree of automation and flexible operation (the particle size of the finished product can be controlled). The airflow spray dryer uses compressed air or water vapor to be sprayed from the nozzle at a speed of ≥300m/s, and the liquid material is separated into fine droplets by the friction generated by the speed difference between the gas and the liquid. The full contact of the mist and the hot air and the heat exchange can quickly complete the entire drying process within 10-30 seconds. The drying time of the air spray dryer is very short, only 10-30 seconds. Due to the short drying time, the product can maintain uniform fine particles (the product has good dispersibility, fluidity and solubility). It is flexible. For the product's grain size, bulk density, moisture, product properties (no dust, fluidity, wettability, instant dissolution), the operating conditions can be adjusted within a certain range, and the control and management are convenient. It is very effective for paste materials with high viscosity. The finished product is of good quality. It can retain the color, fragrance, taste, and other biological activities of the material; the moisture content of the final product; the nozzle structure is simple (the cost of the atomization system is only 1/3 of the pressure type, 1/5 of the centrifugal type), the possibility of clogging Small, low one-time investment cost, and low later use cost.
